Newborn Photography Loughton
I am sure you have spent some time browsing through new-born photographer’s websites. You are also possibly overwhelmed by words that photographers like to use when describing their work. For example, newborn photography poses, baby led pose, lifestyle photographer, studio photographer and so on. I know this can be a bit overwhelming, so let me give you a bit of clarity on this.
Typical New-born Photography Pose in studio setting
In the past few years new-born photography has seen a trend that heavily relies on props and unrealistic backgrounds. Resulting with the baby becoming part of the overall setting rather than the main subject. These may look cute for a while however these picture will quickly date as with such trends.
Baby led pose in lifestyle photo session
To counterbalance the over posed babies in studio settings and satisfy parents that didn’t like this style, some photographers adopt the lifestyle approach. Often advertised with the following phrase ‘the photoshoot will take place in the comfort of your home’. Although this can be viewed as an authentic way of capturing moments, you will be left with inconsistent results as the light changes in different spaces of your house and possibly have unwanted elements in the background.
So what is my approach to newborn photography?
I would describe my approach as a ‘combination’. I like to be in control of the light to produce consistent images as well as capturing minimal, natural and pure moments. To achieve this, I use a very minimal approach and props (if any), as my main intention is to capture the purity of your baby in its own skin and the sweet moments between parents their babies in a timeless way.
Where does the magic happen?
This happens in my home studio, where I have created a relaxing studio setting in which you will be welcomed in to enjoy you newborn photo experience.
